Manager R&D in bioinformatics
Course from 1999 to 2002
I had the great opportunity to be a high school student during 3 years in this historical high school "Lycée Gay-Lussac", built by the Jesuites during the 16th century and transformed in Imperial High School by Napoléon in 1804.
Situated in the downtown of Limoges, it was a very nice environment to study. During my education there, I realized that I wanted to go for a PhD in biology and go straight ahead in that direction at the university.
So this high school had a critical and positive influence on my career.
Course from 2002 to 2005
I obtained my bachelor degree in this human-sized faculty. Closed to the dowtown of Limoges, the Faculty of Science and Technics has a very nice environment, with a lot of green spaces.
During this 3-years course, I was introduced to different areas in Life Sciences, like animal and plant sciences, human physiology, microbiology, immunity, genetics, bioinformatics, molecular biology, biochemistry, but also into quantum and nuclear physics, optics, statistics, organic and non-organic chemistry.
I was really passionnate about molecular biology, genetics and microbiology, which will drive more precisely my career choices after this course.
Course from 2005 to 2007
During this 2-years course, I deeply discovered molecular and cellular biology, as well as bioinformatics and utilization of databases.
I did an internship at the Laboratory of Genetics and Microbiology as Master student, and worked on plasmid design for the bacteria Streptomyces ambofaciens.
This was the first time I worked in a laboratory and I discovered techniques like agarose gel, molecular cloning, bacetria cultures and DNA extractions.
At the end of this course, I was still sure about my choice to do a PhD in molecualr biology.
Course from 2008 to 2010
After my Master degree, I face to my first career issue: find a PhD ! There were no such opportunity in my Master internship laboratory. Happily, one of my former Bachelor Degree professor told me that his office neighbourg was looking for a PhD student. The PhD area was proteomics of cattle muscle and its relation with beef tenderness... far from my bacterial genetics thematics ! But it was an interesting objective and at the end of the interview, I accepted the proposal which have been done to me. I will not expose the PhD itself int hsi part (it will be in the Work experiences part).
As PhD student, I had to receive some short courses from the university (communication, patent law system). This University Blaise Pascal was situated in the town of Clermont-Ferrand, 15km from the research center Iw as working as PhD student.
I did all my eduction in France. My three university diplomas have been obained in three different universities of three different towns, due to presence of specific courses I wanted to assist. It was my first experience of mobility !
